Welcome to Middle River Yoga, a restored textile mill in the heart of Stafford, CT  Our passion for yoga, meditation, and acceptance is what we offer to you when you arrive at our door.  I am Shelly, an avid gardener working full time at a farm, mother of 3, wife, and yoga lover.  Yoga has been a part of my life since I was in high school with my very first class in Somers, CT.  After receiving my 200 hour yoga certification, I continued on at Kripalu, to study with Todd Norian, in the Anusara practice, a very intentional mindful practice of yoga. Sean Corn, Rodney Yee, Beryl Bender Birch, and many local yoga teachers ,have guided me in my journey that often I feel is just beginning.  I received the mindfulness training from Thich Nhat Hanh at Stone Hill College and hope to share all that I have learned from his teachings and my mentor Alice Barrett. All and always to be continued, and shared with each student and teacher that I meet in the journey.
Keeping a beginners mind with all that we do and seeing that the  difficult times are truly our daily teachers.

Jack received his Yoga Teacher Certification from The Kripalu Center for

Yoga and Health in Lenox, MA. He is also a Certified Nordic Walking

Instructor through the American Nordic Walking Association ANWA.


Jack teaches Yoga to Students of all levels ranging from Beginner through

Advanced “Power Yoga” in many different venues. In addition he conducts

Various Seminars, integrating Yoga basics with Golfing, Cycling, Skiing and

Nordic Walking.


CATHERINE CROCKET ERYT 200 Catherine Crocket is a 200 hour Kripalu trained yoga teacher with over ten years experience teaching both classes and private sessions. At Kripalu, Catherine trained with renowned teachers Devarshi Hartman and Priti Ross. In addition, Catherine has studied with many great teachers around the country, including Erich Schiffmann, Rodney Yee, Desiree Rumbaugh, and Shiva Rhea. Catherine is also certified in Yoga for Golfers (trained by Katherine Roberts), Yoga for M.S. (trained by Eric Small), and is also a certified holistic health coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. Catherine’s style of yoga is focused on loosening, strengthening and letting go of stress. She teaches with compassion and playfulness, so you will both benefit and enjoy your yoga journey

   Bill Goodale, Bill has been practicing yoga for 9 years. He became more serious about yoga after severing his Achilles’ tendon, he needed to increase flexibility and strength. About the same time, he was introduced to Reiki. Realizing the importance of each, he decided to deepen his practice and become a Yoga instructor and Reiki practitioner. Bill believes that yoga has brought him more calmness but also increased strength and flexibility. Aside from his teaching practice, Bill is retired and has been married to his lovely wife Dianne for 35 years and has two wonderful daughters. 

His mantra is Breathe, Relax, Feel, Watch and Allow.
